DESCRIPTION
The FT series turbine flow meters are specially designed for use in water, diesel, gasoline, and other liquid measurement and control systems. They operate according to the turbine principle, where the speed of a rotor driven by the fluid flow is measured and converted into pulse or 4–20 mA signals.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The fluid entering the meter first passes through a flow straightener that reduces turbulence. It then flows through the turbine, causing it to rotate at a speed proportional to the fluid velocity. As each turbine blade passes through a magnetic pickup sensor, an AC voltage pulse is generated. These pulses produce a frequency output directly proportional to the volumetric flow rate.
